Neon-Medeski is a collaborative project led by renowned artists, keyboardist John Medeski and eccentric bassist MonoNeon. During Jazz Fest this past spring, the project debuted at One Eyed Jacks, and after a successful performance, the group has announced that it will make its return during a late-night performance in April of 2018. In April, the lineup of Neon-Medeski will be rounded out by drummer Daru Jones, saxophonist Skerik, DJ Logic, and keyboardist Robert Walter. You can snag tickets to Neon-Medeski’s late-night performance at One Eyed Jacks on April 30th here.
With Phish in Denver, CO for their annual, summer-ending 3-night jaunt at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, tens of thousands of heads have flocked to the Mile High City for a Labor Day weekend full of music, music, and more music. Last night, DJ Logic and a group of “Phriends,” including bassist Marc Brownstein (The Disco Biscuits), guitarist Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds), keyboardist Borahm Lee (Break Science/Pretty Light Live Band), and drummer Jeff Franca (Thievery Corporation / Congo Sanchez) got the Dick’s late-night lineup off and running, doling out funkafied jams to the sellout crowd until 4am.
DJ Russo opened the night, with a proper warm-up set of funky, hip-hop-inspired mixes. Next, DJ Logic spun a set of his own prior to the main event. Knew Conscious recently moved into a beautiful new space, allowing for some extra room to dance, with some truly inspiring artwork adorning every wall for all to take in and enjoy visually. Check out a little video from the DJ Logic & Phriends set below:
Fans everywhere are still reeling after the massive undertaking that was Phish‘s 13-night Baker’s Dozen residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Throughout run’s 2 plus-week span, a smorgasbord of late-night shows all over NYC kept the party going after each Phish performance into the early hours of the morning. With all eyes on the Vermont quartet’s upcoming Colorado run at Dick’s Sporting Goods, the question begs to be asked: Where are the late-nights at?
Denver’s Knew Conscious Collective has just announced that on Friday, September 1st, following the first night of the Dick’s run, it will host a Phish after-party billed as DJ Logic + Phriends. Turntable specialist and producer DJ Logic will be joined by bassist Marc Brownstein (The Disco Biscuits / Breaking Biscuits), guitarist Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds), and keyboardist/programmer Borahm Lee (Break Science / Breaking Biscuits) for a special set stretching through the night and into Saturday morning. What this collection of musical masterminds has planned is anybody’s guess, but you can be sure that the night will be full of funky, dance-driven rhythm and beats.
The DJ Logic + Phriends Phish after party is a members-only event, so you will need to be a member of Knew Conscious Collective to enter. However, Knew Conscious will be signing up new members at the door, so no need to sweat it if you’re not a member yet. To pre-register for a membership, sign-up online here or send an email to email@example.com and put “MEMBERSHIP” in the subject line. Admission to the show requires attendees to register as a member and give a $25 donation to the Knew Conscious Gallery. Once inside, new Conscious features a complimentary open bar with beverages and refreshments from the time doors open at 11:45 pm until the show ends at 4:30 am. This is a 21+ ONLY event.
Tickets for the show are now on sale and can be purchased here. For show updates and additional information, join the Facebook Event page.
